“We are happy to have Abigail join the Board of Directors of the Greater New Milford Chamber of Commerce for a three-year term beginning September 1, 2017,” said the Chamber’s First Vice President, Attorney Katherine Webster-O’Keefe of the Law Office of Katherine Webster-O’Keefe, LLC in New Milford.

“Abigail brings with her the perspective and history of someone who grew up in this community and continues to value it as her home and workplace as an adult,” Attorney Webster-O’Keefe added. “We look forward to her energy and her experience as one who works with individuals and businesses relative to their legal needs in this particular community.”

While Attorney Miranda’s term officially begins in September, she becomes an acting board member immediately, just in time for the 50th anniversary of the Chamber’s largest event, the annual Village Fair Days on the New Milford Green.

The two-day festival, scheduled for July 28 and 29 this year, features entertainment, Bingo, bouncy houses, a food court and nearly 200 vendor and community booths. The Chamber calls the popular festival “a summertime destination for shopping, socializing, eating, and browsing.”

“I am honored to have been asked to join the Chamber’s Board of Directors and look forward to contributing to the Chamber’s longstanding efforts to develop business in New Milford, encourage economic growth, stability, and collegiality among our local small businesses,” Attorney Miranda said. “New Milford is my hometown and I look forward to participating in its growth and evolution.”

The appointment is the second leadership position for Attorney Miranda in the space of seven months. In late 2016, she was named to the board of the Women’s Center of Greater Danbury.
