Martindale-Hubbell’s attorney ratings service has awarded Cramer & Anderson Partner Jennifer Collins a Silver Client Champion award, which recognizes attorneys for their commitment to the best in client service.
The Client Champion award is based on Attorney Collins’ 5-star ranking in reviews from clients she has helped in her Workers’ Compensation, Social Security Disability, and Personal Injury practice.
The reviews appear on Attorney Collins’ profile pages on the Martindale-Hubbell legal information sites Lawyers.com and Martindale.com.
One Workers’ Compensation client review said, in part:
Jen is a top notch attorney. … She kept my case a priority the whole time no matter how many cases she had. She did that with all cases. Jen will represent you the best that anyone can. She is kind & patient but don’t let that fool you, she is tough on the opposing side. She will go to the limits for you even when other attorneys would just settle quickly. Jen’s the one I would always want on my side! She’s a winner!
A Social Security Disability client’s review said, in part:
Hiring Jennifer Collins was one of the best decisions I ever made. … Won my case with the maximum dollars very quickly! Gave me great advice (that I followed). She & her assistant Kelly were both easy to work with. Always quick to respond to my questions, with patience, kept me well informed & stayed on top of my case!
“I am honored to receive a Client Champion award, especially because I became an attorney to help people who have been injured or are facing a difficult situation. Achieving the results they deserve is a passion, so the feedback prompting this honor is very gratifying.”
Over the past 25 years, Attorney Collins has focused on helping clients who most need compassionate and powerful advocacy, while also giving back to the legal profession through pro bono and volunteer service, and enriching communities with volunteerism and leadership on assistance initiatives.
In her tireless advocacy for clients, Attorney Collins won a 2020 settlement exceeding $1 million in a Worker’s Comp case for a landscaping company employee injured in an inclement weather accident, and also settled a slip-and-fall case for nearly $6oo,ooo.
However, when asked about notable outcomes, Attorney Collins will cite a lower-dollar-amount settlement because of its life-changing impact—$200,000 for a gas company worker badly burned in an explosion, which enabled him to change careers, became a physical therapist, and help others who have been burned.
Attorney Collins’ compassionate advocacy for her clients extends to pro bono work and community service.
She has long accepted Social Security Disability case referrals on a pro bono basis from Connecticut Legal Services, as well as appointments from local probate courts to assist with matters involving guardianship, child neglect, and abuse.
Those calls increased during the pandemic, with Attorney Collins representing individuals being conserved (on a significantly-reduced-fee basis) a half-dozen times in one six-month-period, for example.
Since 2010, she has also been a Connecticut Judicial Branch Magistrate for Small Claims Court and motor vehicle infraction dockets, which has taken her all over the state.
Attorney Collins has been the leader of Cramer & Anderson’s tradition of giving back during the holiday season, and throughout the year, which continued in 2021 with a cluster of examples spread over the firm’s geographic footprint.
These included participating in radio station 98Q’s Bags & Bears event to collect holiday gifts for area children in foster care, held in partnership with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, as well as working with Immigration Law Partner Lisa Rivas to coordinate a donation of food to Camella’s Cupboard, a nonprofit that provides year-round hunger relief to children, seniors, and other vulnerable populations in the Greater New Milford community.
Attorney Collins’ most notable service role may be guiding the firm’s support for The Center for Empowerment and Education in Danbury, formerly The Women’s Center of Greater Danbury, founded in 1975 with a mission of ending domestic violence, while offering prevention and crisis intervention programs, and support services.
Attorney Collins leads the annual effort to collect donations from partners and staff, and shop for gift cards and unwrapped items to donate to the holiday shop set up by the nonprofit, where Moms can choose gifts for their children. Also annually, Attorney Collins oversees the firm’s participating in the Center’s annual SafeWalk to raise funds for the Center’s essential mission.
For those efforts and more, Attorney Collins won a Distinguished Leaders Award from the Connecticut Law Tribune in 2021.
She is based in the firm’s Danbury office and handles cases and issues throughout Fairfield and Litchfield counties and beyond.
