Cramer & Anderson attorneys and staff are once again participating in SafeWalk, the annual event highlighting The Center for Empowerment and Education’s mission to create safer communities free from interpersonal violence in Northern Fairfield and Southern Litchfield counties.
Every year, thousands of people across Connecticut gather together in small and large groups to walk or run a 4k in support of that mission and to raise funds to support the CEE during October, which is Domestic Violence Month.
This year, participants and participating teams can walk on their own time during October or participate in any of the live SafeWalk events that are taking place on Oct. 4 in Bethel, Danbury, New Milford, Newtown, and Ridgefield, and on Oct. 5 in Brookfield.
Cramer & Anderson’s SafeWalk teams from the firm’s offices in New Milford, Danbury, and Litchfield will walk on Oct. 3. There’s still time for other individuals and teams to sign up and participate.
Partner Lisa Rivas is leading the firm’s SafeWalk team, the Cramer & Anderson Allstars, and encourages donations through her page or the firm’s team page. The firm supported the team with a $500 sponsorship.
“The Center for Empowerment and Education is an invaluable regional resource providing education, crisis intervention, and support to individuals and families as part of the battle to break the cycle of interpersonal violence,” Attorney Rivas said. “Cramer & Anderson proudly supports its mission, and SafeWalk is a highlight on our calendar each year.”
This year’s SafeWalk fundraising goal is $80,000, and as of Sept. 29 it had already been eclipsed with more than $84,000 raised.
The funds raised through SafeWalk help to support the no-cost and confidential services offered by CEE to victims experiencing domestic or sexual violence, according to the website.
“Your support helps us provide essential services, from counseling to legal assistance to advocacy and education, ensuring survivors have the resources they need to heal and rebuild,” the CEE said in a Facebook post.
