Cramer & Anderson Supports Danbury Women’s Center’s SafeWalk

Cramer & AndersonCramer & Anderson supports SafeWalk initiative of Women's Center of Greater Danbury is once again supporting the SafeWalk initiative of the Women’s Center of Greater Danbury.

SafeWalk, which honors “neighbors and friends” who have been, or are currently, affected by domestic or intimate partner violence, is meant to unite the community around the women center’s mission to end domestic violence.

The virtual walk event also raises funds to support the center’s no-cost and confidential programs. This year’s goal is $75,000, with more than $50,000 already raised as of Sept. 20.

Partner Jennifer Collins has led Cramer & Anderson’s support of SafeWalk in recent years, forming teams to walk and raise funds, as well as managing the firm’s sponsorship donation.

The firm’s team is The Ambling Attorneys, and those who would like to donate can do so online here.

“The women’s center’s mission is critical, and the issues they address are not uncommon in our communities unfortunately,” said Attorney Collins, who has volunteered in the past as a certified domestic violence and sexual assault counselor. “With the pandemic persisting, and everyone’s stress level higher than normal, the women’s center’s services are more critical than ever.”

SafeWalk teams and participants have traditionally walked inside the Danbury Fair Mall, earning pledges and donations for their total distances. Last year and this year amid COVID-19, SafeWalk has been a virtual event.

This year, on the weekend of October 1-3, participants are invited to log the distance of a 4K (2.5 miles), either alone or with friends, by walking, running, biking, or otherwise moving—on the road, a trail, the track, or a treadmill at the gym.

Attorney Collins and fellow members of The Ambling Attorneys from the firm’s Danbury office plan to walk together.
