Cramer & Anderson’s Litchfield office is once again participating in an annual collection of non-perishable food items to support 12 area food pantries and help neighbors in need in Northwest Connecticut.
Paralegal and office bookkeeper Peggy C. Geddes is coordinating the firm’s participation in the United Way of Northwest Connecticut’s Campaign of Caring & Giving.
Cramer & Anderson is encouraging donations from June 2 through June 17 with a collection bin located in the office reception area, allowing visitors to also drop off donations.
On the Day of Action June 20, United Way volunteers will gather at the Five Points Art Center in Torrington to receive all the donations collected by businesses and locations across the Northwest Corner and distribute them to the food pantries.
“This is a great cause and I hope all will participate,” Geddes wrote in an email to her Cramer & Anderson colleagues, listing some of the most needed items as peanut butter, jelly, pasta, pasta sauce, olive oil, 100 percent fruit juice, canned fruit and vegetables, boxed mac & cheese, applesauce, oatmeal, cereal, ramen noodles, soups, granola bars, baked beans, rice, dried mashed potatoes, dried milk, stuffing, and canned chili.
Toiletries are always in demand, she added, along with grocery store gift cards.
The food drive was previously an initiative of the organization Stock the Shelves, which is now under the United Way of Northwest Connecticut umbrella.
