Elizabeth R. Gilbert – Associate

Attorney Elizabeth R. Gilbert, who goes by “Lizzy,” focuses her practice on Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice. She is based in the firm’s New Milford office and she collaborates primarily with the personal injury team.

Attorney Gilbert has worked on complex medical malpractice and personal injury cases that resulted in multi-million-dollar settlements for clients who suffered catastrophic injuries or death.

Attorney Gilbert has extensive experience with issues related to the fields of medical and legal research. Prior to attending law school, she worked as a clinical research coordinator at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Upon graduating from law school, she completed a judicial clerkship with the Legal Research Office of the Connecticut Judicial Branch, providing legal research and writing assistance to the Honorable Judges of the Connecticut Superior Court throughout the state.

In 2017 and again in 2019, she served as a legal intern in the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Vaccine Litigation, where she conducted research and wrote reports related to cases involving the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986.

She was a legal intern for the U.S. Agency for International Development, Office of General Counsel, in 2017, where she conducted legal research and drafted memoranda on HIV/AIDS and maternal healthissues – and in 2016, she was a Summer Fellow of the Health Global Access Project in New York City, where she supported the U.S. team for Health GAP during the 2016 International AIDS Conference in Durban, South Africa.

In 2018, she was a Summer Law Fellow for the Yale Law School Collaboration for Research Integrity and Transparency initiative, performing legal research and writing for an inter-disciplinary team fromYale Medical School and Yale Law School seeking to promote health by improving the integrity of clinical research.

Based on these experiences and others, including earlier work with Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières and the Phoebe Education Fund for HIV/AIDS Orphans, Attorney Gilbert places a priority on equal access to health care with no regard for income, race, ethnicity, or other demographic qualities that can create barriers.

Attorney Gilbert came to Cramer & Anderson from another Connecticut firm in October 2024. She was born and raised in New Milford and is deeply connected to the community.

A resident of Southbury, she enjoys hikes with her husband and their mini Labradoodle.
