Estate Planning Is Up With Everyone Social Distancing at Home

Forbes is reporting a rise in estate planning as most Americans remain sequestered at home to stay safe from the COVID-19 coronavirus and have time to take care of personal and financial matters they have been putting off.

“Many people are reaching out to execute estate plans they have put off finalizing and signing,” the story says. “Others are calling to start estate plans they should have started years ago. Attorneys are offering creative solutions to get estate planning documents signed and in place.”

Cramer & Anderson’s Estate Planning attorneys are well-positioned to complete or begin estate planning work or Elder Law planning even as they work remotely.

“We can do the meetings virtually and do our signings virtually. If you need or want to get this done, now is the time to do it since we are all at home and have hit the pause button with regards to our busy travel schedules,” said Partner Joshua Weinshank, the Fairfield County Trust and Estate Planning and Administration Group Leader for the firm.

Among the fundamentals for couples and families, Attorney Weinshank lists having the proper and necessary documents—beginning with wills—ensuring those documents are in good order, and having an estate plan.

Cramer & Anderson’s Estate Planning services include:

  • Last Will and Testament
  • Power of Attorney
  • Living Will/Advanced Healthcare Directive
  • Conservatorship and Guardianship
  • Care Agreement Contract
  • Business Succession Plan
  • Irrevocable Trust
  • Living Trust
  • How to use estate planning to protect assets.
