Cramer & Anderson Attorneys Play in New Milford Rotary Golf Tournament

When it comes to golf, bragging rights within Cramer & Anderson go to the Litchfield office.

Attorneys Thomas Mott, Chris Sochacki, Jim Hirschfield, and Neal White had a better outing Aug. 24 at the New Milford Rotary Golf Tournament than their counterparts from the New Milford office, Randy DiBella, Kent Mancini, Scott McCarthy, and Ken Taylor.

It’s a fitting result in one sense, as Attorney Mott is a Rotary Club director who helps oversee the Jim Faure Memorial tournament, held at Fairview Farm Golf Course in Harwinton. This year his primary role was selling raffle tickets during the post-play reception.

In addition to their round of golf, participants in the scramble format tournament enjoyed lunch, and later hors d’oeuvres and dinner.

In return, the $165 fee per golfer helped the New Milford Rotary Club earn net revenue of $11,257—funds that are funneled back directly to local charities and nonprofit organizations.

“As with most Rotary fundraisers, the money is collected and some of it goes to certain things during the year, like scholarships and dictionaries that we give out to elementary school students,” Attorney Mott said, “but a majority of it is dispersed at the end of our fiscal year in June when we designate where the money will go, whether it be Harrybrooke Park, New Milford VNA, Rebuilding Together, the Community Culinary School of Northwestern Connecticut, New Milford’s fireworks display, the Pratt Nature Center, the Village Center for the Arts, etc.”

“Many thanks to the members who played in the outing and to the members who helped by garnering Golfers, Sponsors and Raffle items prior to the outing,” Rotary member Katy Francis wrote in a post-tournament email to all the local Rotarians. “Three cheers and deep appreciation to those who gave their time and talent at the outing that day. Without all of you helping on-site we couldn’t have an outing.”
