Danbury Mayor-elect Roberto Alves has named Cramer & Anderson Municipal Law Partner Dan Casagrande to his transition team.
Mayor-elect Alves, a Democrat, defeated Republican Mayor Dean Esposito in the Nov. 7 election. He takes office Dec 1.
“I’m honored to be appointed to the transition team,” said Attorney Casagrande, who has served as outside Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Danbury since 1990.
“We have worked for both Democratic and Republican administrations and we’re honored to have had the City’s trust and confidence over all these years,” Attorney Casagrande added of Cramer & Anderson’s representation of Danbury.

“Dan is a highly experienced attorney with an immense knowledge base in municipal law and local government, as well as a trusted advocate who has represented the best interests of the City of Danbury for decades,” Mayor-elect Alves said. “I’m glad to have his expertise on my transition team and I look forward to working with Dan as my team and I prepare to take office and beyond.”
Attorney Casagrande noted that the transition team has bi-partisan representation, including, for example, Co-Chair David Cappiello, a Republican who served two terms in the Connecticut House of Representatives and five terms in the State Senate.
“Mayor-elect Alves’ goal is to be transparent and surround himself with the best people in the room,” Attorney Casagrande said.
The transition team also includes:

Mayor-elect Alves said in a news release that the transition team will focus on the city’s finances and fiscal health, promoting government transparency, assessing city projects and infrastructure, and addressing educational matters – in order to “hit the ground running.”
