Jennifer Collins- Partner

“I’ve always represented people in their fights against unresponsive companies and government. I’ve never represented big companies,” says Attorney Jennifer H. Collins, who joined Cramer & Anderson as a Partner in October 2016 after guiding her own firm as Managing Member of Collins & Associates, LLC in the Greater Danbury Area.

“I represent people who have been injured or otherwise are in dire straits and going through a difficult time. That makes it easy to passionately advocate for them,” says Attorney Collins, whose principal Practice Areas are Personal Injury, including motor vehicle accidents, Workers’ Compensation, and Social Security Disability.

In her 18 years of practice, Attorney Collins has established a record of success on behalf of clients built upon meticulous attention to details and deadlines, extensive experience in preparing and trying injury claims, and an ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with judges, other attorneys, and clients.

She has settled a Workers’ Compensation case for $1.2 million, recently settled a slip-and-fall case for $575,000, and is highly experienced in motor vehicle accidents with injuries, including those involving pedestrians, as part of her Personal Injury practice.

Attorney Collins once took a Social Security appeal to U.S. District Court, where such appeals are rarely granted, and successfully had the case remanded to the Social Security Administration’s Hearings Office for reconsideration based on her written appeal alone—without having to argue before the court.

Attorney Collins is also a State of Connecticut Judicial Branch Magistrate who presides over small claims matters and motor vehicle infractions across the state. Additionally, she has experience with Juvenile Law, having been contracted by the State of Connecticut to engage in child protection work, and with Probate Law.

Her extensive and diverse background includes clerkships in the Office of the General Counsel of the Department of Defense, researching and drafting regulations for the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and in the Office of Legislative Affairs for the U.S. Navy.

Attorney Collins distinguished herself as one of the Connecticut legal community’s Unsung Heroes as part of the 2023 New England Legal Awards. In 2021, she won a Distinguished Leaders Award from the Connecticut Law Tribune, and in 2022, Martindale-Hubbell’s attorney ratings service honored her with a Silver Client  Champion award, which recognizes attorneys for their commitment to the best in client service. The Client Champion award is based on Attorney Collins’ 5-star ranking in reviews from clients she has helped in her Workers’ Compensation, Social Security Disability, and Personal Injury practice.

She is based in the firm’s Danbury office and handles cases and issues throughout Fairfield and Litchfield counties and beyond.

Attorney Collins lives in Ridgefield with her husband and children, where she volunteers within the public schools and supports nonprofits, including the Prospector Theater. She also runs 5Ks such as Run Like a Mother, to support the Molly Ann Tango Memorial Foundation, and the Super Scout 5K Challenge in Newtown.

Excerpt from Workers’ Compensation client review:
Jen is a top notch attorney. … She kept my case a priority the whole time no matter how many cases she had. She did that with all cases. Jen will represent you the best that anyone can. She is kind & patient but don’t let that fool you, she is tough on the opposing side. She will go to the limits for you even when other attorneys would just settle quickly. Jen’s the one I would always want on my side! She’s a winner!

Excerpt from Social Security Disability client review:
Hiring Jennifer Collins was one of the best decisions I ever made. … Won my case with the maximum dollars very quickly! Gave me great advice (that I followed). She & her assistant Kelly were both easy to work with. Always quick to respond to my questions, with patience, kept me well informed & stayed on top of my case!
