Christopher Sochacki- Partner
Attorney Christopher Sochacki joined Cramer & Anderson in June 2015 as an Associate and was elevated to Partner on Jan. 1, 2018. His civil litigation practice focuses on helping people who have been wronged or injured.
With a foundation of 17 years practicing as an insurance defense litigator, Attorney Sochacki has extensive experience with personal injury cases, product liability, construction defects and medical malpractice. He also has experience with professional malpractice claims, workers’ compensation, employers’ liability and discrimination, and real estate errors and omissions.
Attorney Sochacki also has extensive experience in fire and explosion litigation, and emergency management and emergency response consultation and litigation. He has litigated cases before the Connecticut state and federal courts, Connecticut administrative agencies and the Mohegan Tribe Gaming Disputes Court, and has also argued cases before Connecticut’s Appellate and Supreme courts.
Given his years as an insurance defense litigator, Attorney Sochacki brings to the table significant strategic insight and experience concerning how insurance companies and their defense counsel handle the litigation of claims.
Additionally, Attorney Sochacki’s volunteer service as a first responder as a member of New Hartford Volunteer Ambulance and the Nepaug/Bakerville Volunteer Fire Department provide him with insights and experience that benefit clients.
Attorney Sochacki is certified Paramedic and EMT, which gives him a deeper understanding than most attorneys have of medical conditions.
The Connecticut Law Tribune honored Attorney Sochacki with a 2018 Distinguished Leaders Award based on how successfully he leverages his background and community service experience in achieving optimal outcomes, often in difficult cases.
For example, in a Personal Injury case other attorneys found too problematic to take on, Attorney Sochacki secured a settlement of $250,000.
He also settled a 2017 Personal Injury case involving soft tissue damage from a low-impact, rear-end collision for an amount the mediator said exceeded settlements in nine of 10 comparable cases.
In a sensitive 2016 case involving a child who was subjected to a traumatic situation, Attorney Sochacki obtained a settlement totaling more than three times what some Partners had estimated was possible, without filing a lawsuit.
In his work as an attorney and as a first responder, Attorney Sochacki strives to assist those in need of help as effectively, efficiently, and compassionately as possible.
Attorney Sochacki, who also provides emergency management consulting and addresses EMS providers regarding legal issues, works primarily in the firm’s Litchfield office. He lives in New Hartford with his wife, Julie, and their two sons.
