Christopher Sochacki - Partner

Attorney Christopher Sochacki’s civil litigation practice focuses on helping people who have been wronged or injured.

He has extensive experience with Personal Injury cases, Workers’ Compensation, Medical Malpractice, and product liability—as well as experience with professional malpractice claims.

Having practiced as an insurance defense litigator for 17 years, Attorney Sochacki approaches each case with significant strategic insight concerning how insurance companies and their defense counsel handle the litigation of claims.

Attorney Sochacki was voted Best Personal Injury Lawyer five times in the Waterbury Republican-American newspapers Reader’s Choice Awards.

He has litigated cases before the Connecticut state and federal courts, Connecticut administrative agencies and the Mohegan Tribe Gaming Disputes Court, and has also argued cases before Connecticut’s Appellate and Supreme courts.

Attorney Sochacki also recently completed a mediation certificate training program offered by the Quinnipiac University School of Law Center on Dispute Resolution. His comprehensive training in mediation and conflict management applies to all types and aspects of litigation, including pre-litigation.

A certified Paramedic and volunteer firefighter, Attorney Sochacki has a deeper understanding of medical conditions than most attorneys, and also has extensive experience in fire and explosion litigation.

He offers emergency management and emergency response consultation, as well as handling related litigation, and represents medical providers before the state Department of Health.

In his work as an attorney and as a first responder, Attorney Sochacki strives to assist those in need of help as effectively, efficiently, and compassionately as possible.

The Connecticut Law Tribune honored Attorney Sochacki with a 2018 Distinguished Leaders Award based on how successfully he leverages his background and community service experience in achieving optimal outcomes, often in difficult cases.

In one Personal Injury case other attorneys found too problematic to take on, Attorney Sochacki secured a settlement of $250,000.

He settled a 2017 Personal Injury case involving soft tissue damage from a low-impact, rear-end collision for an amount the mediator said exceeded settlements in nine of 10 comparable cases.

In a sensitive 2016 case involving a child who was subjected to a traumatic situation, Attorney Sochacki obtained a settlement totaling more than three times what some Partners had estimated was possible, without filing a lawsuit.

Attorney Sochacki, who works primarily in the firm’s Litchfield office, lives in New Hartford with his wife, Julie, and their two sons.
