Cramer & Anderson Senior Partner Josh Weinshank has been named to the Danbury and New Milford Hospitals Board of Directors.
Danbury Hospital, which includes the New Milford Hospital campus, is part of Nuvance Health, offering convenient, advanced care to communities in western Connecticut and the Hudson Valley.
”We are pleased and proud to add Josh Weinshenk to our board. His depth of knowledge and commitment to this community brings new expertise and a perspective that will enrich our discussions and decision-making,” shared Sharon Adams, President of Danbury and New Milford Hospitals.
“I’m honored to join the hospital board and deepen my commitment to helping guide the premier health care system serving the western Connecticut communities we call home, and where our firm has six regional offices,” said Attorney Weinshank, who focuses his practice in the areas of Trust and Estate Planning, Asset Protection, Trust and Probate administration, and Elder Law.
In addition to his board membership, he also serves as Chair of the Legacy Society for Danbury and New Milford Hospitals, which recognizes donors who include the hospitals in their estate planning.
Attorney Weinshank previously served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Danbury Hospital and New Milford Hospital Foundation, as well as the Norwalk Hospital Foundation, and has also served on the health system’s Patient Advisory Council.
The leader of the Cramer & Anderson’s Fairfield County Trust and Estate Planning and Administration Group, Attorney Weinshank guided the opening the newest office in Ridgefield and leads the firm’s growth in Fairfield County.
He advises clients on optimal ways to preserve and create intergenerational wealth and considers entire portfolios as he addresses clients’ goals and their tax and personal concerns, while implementing strategies to reduce estate and gift taxes and addressing income tax concerns through the management of capital gains and appreciation of assets.
Attorney Weinshank also focuses on asset protection and Title XIX (Medicaid) planning, advising clients about preserving assets while qualifying for government assistance programs.
In addition to his roles with Nuvance Health, Attorney Weinshank is a corporator for Union Savings Bank, serves on the Board of Directors of Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield, is a Director of the Kermit & Patricia Adler Foundation Inc, Chair of the Stevek Foundation, and Director of the Dee Williams Freestyle Fund Inc.
In Ridgefield, where Attorney Weinshank lives with his wife, Steffani, and their two daughters, he is a member of the RVNAhealth Development Committee, and a former member of the Finance Committee.
Additionally, he has served on the Board of the Ridgefield Playhouse, as well as its Finance Committee.
Among his honors and awards, in the summer of 2022 Attorney Weinshank was named a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation (ABF), whose membership is limited to one percent of the lawyers admitted to practice in the U.S. and its territories, as well as a limited number of lawyers in international jurisdictions.
He won a Distinguished Leaders award from the Connecticut Law Tribune (CLT) in 2022, following his 2017 New Leaders in the Law award from the CLT.
